Gig for Gaza II in solidarity with Pride
The Post Bar, N15 4BP , [Venue Details]The event will feature performances and exhibitions from Music and Arts therapists, as well as a handicrafts stall supporting a Palestinian women's cooperative.
The gig will also be in solidarity with Pride, with creative contributions from LGBTQI+ communities.
All funds raised from sales will go directly to families in Gaza.
For the avoidance of doubt, our collective welcomes and stands beside those of all marginalised backgrounds and identities, including our Jewish members, families, attendees, and friends, and condemns antisemitism along with every single other form of racism.
In November 2024, we organised our first 'Gig for Gaza'. The music therapy community showed up in beautiful and unexpected ways, and thousands of £ were raised for a family and their community in Gaza. All this happened through a model of 'Palship': a peer-to-peer solidarity movement where ordinary people partner with Palestinians to empower and support their ongoing fight for survival in this genocide. Half a year later, with a broken ceasefire, amplified military aggression, and months-long blockades of food, water, electricity, and aid, humanitarian agencies warn that famine is imminent. If you speak directly to Palestinians, as those of us involved in Palship do, you will know it is no longer even just at their doorstep. It is already inside their houses, tents, and temporary shelters.
