Grande Família was formed in 2023 to record Billy’s debut album Penelope, a surprise for his mother Penny during her struggle with pancreatic cancer. Released in her memory in early 2024, the album has raised over £6,000 for World Child Cancer and is shortlisted for Jazz Album of the Year in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2025. Grande Família play Billy’s emotive, melodically driven contemporary jazz compositions, blending funk, folk and Brazilian influences.
We have a laid-back attitude at Relaxed events at the Royal Albert Hall – customers are welcome to move around, make noise, clap along, and enjoy themselves in whatever way feels most comfortable.
The less formal environment may particularly benefit autistic people, those with learning disabilities, those with dementia, or anyone who may prefer coming to our venue with additional measures in place.
