Known for his rich voice, evocative songwriting, and mastery of instruments including cello, guitar, mandolin, piano, and harmonica, he delivers performances that are both intimate and powerful. His music moves between folk, Americana, and rock, often weaving in stories from history, travels, and the landscapes he calls home.
Formerly a member of the award-winning Oysterband, Ray has spent the last decade carving out his own path as a solo artist. He has released five acclaimed albums and toured extensively across Europe, Canada, and the UK. His latest album, Even For A Shadow (2024), was nominated for Album of the Year in the Folk and Singer-Songwriter category of the German critics’ prize Preis der Schallplattenkritik.
