Described as ‘electrifying’ (BBC Music Magazine) and ‘impressive…ravishing’ (Washington Post), Ivana will weave her signature insightful stories through a series of works she has selected to play from the album, in this more laid-back solo piano recital.
Throwback to Dance explores how composers turn to old dance forms to carve out new paths: predominantly court dances, folk dances but also the more ‘modern’ waltz. Programme will include the Holberg Suite and Norwegian Dances by Grieg, a new Dance Suite by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, as well as pieces by Couperin, Chaminade, Pejačević and Ravel, who was born 150 years ago.
