Black Lives in Music presents CHERISE
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]Named by Clash as “one of the women raising the bar for soul and jazz in the UK”, rising artist CHERISE invites you to an intimate evening of soul, jazz and storytelling, presented in collaboration with Black Lives in Music.
Black Lives in Music, an organisation dedicated to creating equality, representation and fairness for Black and ethnically diverse musicians and professionals across the music industry.
CHERISE has fast become one of the UK’s most exciting new vocal talents with a unique, contemporary take on R&B, soul, and jazz. A member of Tomorrow’s Warriors at just 16 and the winner of the Jazz FM vocalist of the year award in 2019, since then she has toured and collaborated with the likes of Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum, Michael Kiwanuka, Steam Down, Reuben James, Omar, and Nubiyan Twist. Her reimagining of Norah Jones’ ‘Sunrise’ was featured on the Blue Note Re: Imagined II compilation.
In 2024, CHERISE released her latest EP, Butter, further cementing her reputation as a fearless, genre-blurring artist. That summer, she also performed at the ‘Sarah Vaughan Proms’, celebrating one of jazz’s greats.
With her signature warmth and effortless stage presence, CHERISE brings to life a sound that’s equal parts vintage and visionary, blending the golden era of jazz with the honesty of modern soul.
