Sasha Berliner

Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]

The creative, genre-defying composer and bandleader Sasha Berliner is leading a new wave of vibraphone virtuosos.

9 Apr 2026
@6.30pm

Collaborations with Christian McBride, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Tyshawn Sorey, and Marcus Gilmore have cemented her reputation as one of the most exciting talents on the international jazz scene. San Francisco-born and Los Angeles-based, Berliner’s latest album Fantôme is a bold statement: take the music for what it is, leaving behind the need to categorise jazz.

Described as a “young mallet master” by JazzTimes, Berliner is a DownBeat Critics Poll #1 Rising Star Vibraphonist and an NPR Jazz Night in America Youngbloods Class of 2024 pick. With two studio albums - Azalea (2019) and Onyx (2022) - and her live album Sasha Berliner & Tabula Rasa (2023), Berliner continues to explore the vibraphone in acoustic, electric, and electronic settings, blending complex composition, improvisation, and politically resonant themes.

“Fantome is about creating moods, making new interpretations of familiar songs or phrases, and presenting instrumental configurations that have rarely been done or explored before”, Berliner explains.
