This performance at PizzaExpress Live Soho will celebrate the release of a new album (recorded live in 2024) – ‘Live at The Glad Jazz Festival’. The LP features five original compositions previously released on their two studio albums – ‘to explore (vol. 1 & 2)’.
Aspyrian will be playing a mixture of these songs – now so familiar to the band to allow for expansive improvisations and risk-taking – as well as new tunes, which further deepen the ensemble’s original voice.
Formed by long-standing friends and collaborators, Aspyrian are a London-based trio that have been performing in various contexts together for almost 15 years. Drawing inspiration from contemporary jazz artists as well as an eclectic mix of soulful songwriters and alternative bands, the London-based trio have crafted a sound that is both captivating and distinctive – blending intricate composition with rich improvisation and immersive textures.
Following the success of their acclaimed 2024 release ‘to explore (vol. 2)’ – which garnered thousands of streams and placements on prominent jazz playlists – Aspyrian recently unveiled their latest album, ‘Live at The Jazz Glad Festival’.
