Under the musical direction of pianist Alex Webb, an exceptional live band is joined by acclaimed vocalist Riketté Genesis, whose interpretations of the Lady Day songbook are both respectful and strikingly personal. Between songs, Riketté draws from Holiday’s memoir, allowing the story behind the music to unfold in Billie’s own words.
Riketté Genesis is a leading swing-era jazz vocalist whose work draws on traditional jazz and gypsy swing influences. Her performances span major UK stages, including the Southbank Centre, Wilderness Festival, and WOW Festival.
Pianist and arranger Alex Webb is renowned for his work with top jazz vocalists and for creating acclaimed themed productions, including Café Society Swing and Stormy: The Life of Lena Horne.
