Punk at 50: The Vapors + Eddie Roxy + Damage UK
The Half Moon, SW15 1EU , [Venue Details]To launch our Vintage Punk Summer Afternoon Series we have Pop-Punk legends THE VAPORS returning for an intimate matinee in the newly refurbished Half Moon Putney.
They will be joined by former Department S front man EDDIE ROXY and his latest band THE ADJACENT KINGS, plus Half Moon favourites DAMAGE UK. The show runs between 1pm and 5pm.
THE VAPORS - formed in 1978 and after supporting The Jam on the ‘Setting Sons’ tour in 1979, went on to release the classic singles ‘Turning Japanese’, ‘Jimmie Jones’, ‘News At Ten’, ‘Waiting For The Weekend’ along with albums ‘New Clear Days’ (1980) and ‘Magnets’ (1981). The band were dormant for 34 long years before reappearing in 2016 at the legendary Half Moon in Putney and then in 2020 releasing their third album ’Together'. The Vapors latest album 'Wasp In A Jar' has had universally positive reviews and this is a unique opportunity to catch them in this fabulous venue "where it all restarted!"
EDDIE ROXY AND THE ADJACENT KINGS - Eddie was caught up as a fan in the first Punk explosion from 1976 and was a founder member of Department S in 1980. The band was predominantly remembered for their hit single IS VIC THERE? But it’s often forgotten that the follow-up GOING LEFT RIGHT was also a top 40 recording.
