His long‑running Soulbop project with Randy Brecker produced the acclaimed Soulbop Band Live.
In 2005, Evans created Soulgrass, a groundbreaking fusion of jazz and American roots music that earned a Grammy nod and led to several follow‑up albums, including Live in Moscow. After a decade with Soulgrass, he formed the Bill Evans Band in 2015, blending contemporary jazz, groove, and vocals.
His 2016 release Rise Above featured guest singers such as Gregg Allman and Warren Haynes. Subsequent projects included The Sun Room (2019) with Robben Ford, The Spy Killers!, and Common Ground (2022).
