Folk for Kids
Royal Albert Hall, Elgar Room, SW7 2AP , [Venue Details]Elye Cuthbertson and leading folk musicians from around the country present a performance of folk music to entertain and inspire.
They will introduce you to instruments you might never have seen before, like the melodeon, and demonstrate how familiar instruments like the guitar are used in folk music.
Their repertoire will show off a wide range of the modern day folk canon. Audience members can enjoy interactive elements such as singing a folk song, learning about different folk rhythms through body percussion, and even dancing a traditional dance! Folk music is very accessible to young people, yet the band’s skill and musicianship will delight and amaze all ages.
Elye, a leading melodeon player and the Royal Albert Hall’s 2022 Future Makers champion, is joined by Miranda Rutter on fiddle, David Delarre on guitar, and Danny Marshall on wooden flute and bagpipes.
