Fresh off the back of their sold-out performance of Herbie Hancock’s Thrust at Ronnie Scott’s, the quartet started working tirelessly on some new groove-focused material, drawing inspiration from legends like Weather Report, Joe Henderson, Roy Ayers and The Headhunters.
Breaking away from the 60s hard-bop traditions and swing era of jazz showcased on Tenderlonious’ previous album You Know I Care, N22 is the bold new project delivering a fresh repertoire of groove-heavy funk, lush Fender Rhodes, deep synth textures, slick bass lines, crisp drums and soaring woodwinds.
