Lucy Woodward
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]Lucy Woodward’s voice moves effortlessly from an intimate whisper to a soaring cry, shaped by decades of exploration across genres and stages. At the centre of her creative world is her band, The Rocketeers, featuring Jelle Roozenburg on guitar, Niek de Bruijn on drums, and Udo Pannekeet on bass.
Together they have performed across Europe at major stages, including the Istanbul Jazz Festival and Blue Note Milan.
Lucy's ninth album, I Need To Roam (GroundUP Music, 2026) is a collection of original songs reflecting her ongoing artistic and personal evolution. It follows the momentum of her 2024 release with The Rocketeers, which expanded into a collaboration with an 18-piece international jazz orchestra, blending cinematic arrangements with groove-driven clarity and emotional depth.
Born in London, raised in New York, and shaped by summers in the Netherlands, Woodward developed a genre-fluid musical identity early on. She entered Manhattan School of Music at sixteen but soon left to pursue her own direction, performing in local bands and building her craft through studio sessions and live performance.
Her career spans chart success, film soundtracks, and eight albums released through Atlantic, Verve, andGroundUP Music. She has collaborated widely, toured internationally, and stepped in as guest vocalist for Pink Martini.
