Amphitrio is an award-winning contemporary jazz project based in Bucharest, Romania, initiated in 2023. The trio features pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex and percussionist Philip Goron, three musicians with strong backgrounds in both classical and alternative music. Their sound is defined by a unique blend of Scandinavian jazz aesthetics and Balkan rhythmic and harmonic influences, resulting in an expansive, cinematic and emotionally rich musical experience.
Since its formation, Amphitrio has quickly gained international recognition, performing at major festivals such as Jazz in the Park, Gărâna Jazz Festival, Baku Jazz Festival and JazzFest Budapest.
