BFR presents: Alexander Carson & Night Nouse
Servant Jazz Quarters, N16 8JN , [Venue Details]Alexander Carson is a non-binary singer-songwriter and composer whose music blends classical discipline with modern lyrical introspection.
Classically trained from the age of four, Carson’s sound has been described as somewhere between Chopin and Rufus Wainwright, pairing intricate piano work with a distinctive, fragile vocal timbre. Their writing balances existential weight with surrealist wit, inspired by what they describe as “the mundanity of modernity” and an urge to articulate the absurdity of human existence without ever becoming self-serious.
Brighton-based Night House blend electronic beats, orchestral arrangements and lyric-driven songwriting, drawing from a wide range of influences such as the electronic work of James Blake and Radiohead and the folk harmonies of Sufjan Stevens, Joni Mitchell, and Bon Iver.
