After nearly a decade since their debut album Godtfolk, Songleikr returns with their long-awaited second release, Fuglefolk-a heartfelt, honest, and playful folk-pop album gathered from the group's creative treasure chest. Where Godtfolk leaned more deeply into traditional material, Fuglefolk is composed by the band themselves: bigger in sound, richer in instrumentation, and more progressive in spirit.
Recorded live in the studio-with the full ensemble playing together to capture that raw, communal "folk-in-the-room" energy-Fuglefolk carries the pulse of real moments. Several tracks grew from improvised jam sessions, staying true to the Songleikr spirit ("song game"), where spontaneity and connection guide the music.
