Formed from a humble Sydney café residency in 2021, the group has become a cult fixture of Australia’s underground music scene, championing a new wave of improvised and instrumental music through an ever-evolving line-up of collaborators.
No two Manfredo Lament performances are ever the same. Each night sees Lam and Haslam joined by a rotating cast of musicians - often playing together for the very first time - creating music that shifts instinctively between textures, moods and genres. Through a fluid approach to improvisation, every performance becomes a singular blend of the personalities, influences and musical instincts of the players on stage.
Equal parts jam session, conversation and sonic experiment, Manfredo Lament’s performances thrive on emotional vulnerability, risk-taking and adapting to the room itself, embracing the atmosphere, energy and unpredictability of each space they play.
