Conceived during Spero’s 2016 world tour with pop phenomenon Halsey, the project emerged as a creative counterpoint to the polished simplicity of arena pop: an outlet for intricate compositions, fearless improvisation and genre-defying musical exploration.
Returning to the US, the acclaimed American pianist and composer assembled a collective of exceptional instrumentalists to bring Spirit Fingers to life. Since then, the project has built a devoted following, particularly in London, where its richly layered sound and virtuosic musicianship have resonated with a new generation of jazz artists and listeners alike.
Now featuring a London-based line-up including Lox, Ben Glasser and Matt May, Spirit Fingers continues to evolve as a vibrant transatlantic collaboration, drawing from the traditions of jazz fusion while embracing elements of classical composition, soul, R&B and contemporary pop.
More than just a performance, the show is a technically dazzling celebration of jazz’s potential future.
