Inspired by the hard bop and post-bop eras of jazz, the band's music combines strong melodies, dynamic interplay and a modern edge.
Known for his powerful sound, melodic clarity and deep connection to the hard bop lineage, Richardson leads a quartet with a distinctive collective identity and an energetic, engaging live presence. Regular performers at Ronnie Scott's Late Late Show for the past decade, the band returns with new material ahead of their forthcoming album, alongside music from their acclaimed release Move.
The quartet's debut album, The Chase, became the first debut jazz recording to receive a five-star review from The Observer. It was later selected by The Times as one of the Top 10 Jazz Albums of 2017 and one of the Top 100 Albums of the Year across all genres. The success of the album led to the band's debut appearance at the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in 2018.
Their second album, Move, was released in 2019 to further critical acclaim, earning a five-star review in BBC Music Magazine.
