Widely regarded as one of the UK's foremost jazz vocalists, Martin has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, winning the British Jazz Awards eight times and earning a reputation for her thoughtful interpretations and impeccable musicianship.
Uppsala-born pianist and arranger Martin Sjöstedt leads the trio, joined by bassist Mark Hodgson and drummer Matt Skelton. One of Sweden's most respected jazz musicians, Sjöstedt has created a set of imaginative new arrangements exclusively for this project, bringing a fresh perspective to contemporary repertoire while remaining firmly rooted in the jazz tradition.
Throughout her career, Claire Martin has collaborated with artists including Martin Taylor, John Martyn, Stéphane Grappelli, Kenny Barron, Jim Mullen and the late Richard Rodney Bennett. Signed to Linn Records since 1990, she has released 18 albums, was awarded an OBE for Services to Jazz in 2011, and received the BASCA Gold Badge Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to jazz in 2018.
