Drawing on backgrounds in classical, jazz and alternative music, the trio has developed a distinctive sound that blends modern jazz with Nordic lyricism, Balkan rhythms and influences taken from heavy metal and electronic music.
Built around Petrache's original compositions, Amphitrio are know for cinematic atmospheric soundscapes. Since forming in 2023, the trio has performed across Europe and the United States, appearing at festivals including Jazz in the Park, Gărâna Jazz Festival, Baku Jazz Festival and JazzFest Budapest. Their latest album, Timelines, was named Album of the Year by Romanian Cultural Radio, further establishing Amphitrio as one of the leading voices of Romania's new jazz generation.
