Born in Punjab, raised in Delhi and trained on the harmonium, she signed to Raftaar's Kalamkaar and has spent every year since refusing to sit still in one genre.
You'll know the songs even if the name is new. "Bajre Da Sitta", the folk reimagining that became her breakout viral moment. "Nadiyon Paar" from Roohi, still a dancefloor staple. "Jadi Buti" with Major Lazer and Nucleya. "Ishq Nachaawe" from Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, "Janiye" from Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga.
Then there's the other side. Musafir Live Sessions rebuilds her 2019 debut EP live and stripped back, and its centrepiece "Faqeeran" has reached millions on its own terms — no film, no feature. The clearest look at the artist underneath the hits.
Live is where it all makes sense: a full band, and a voice that moves from Sufi-weighted folk to full-throated pop inside a single song. The kind of set that has a room singing in Punjabi whether or not it speaks it.
