David Axelrod gained recognition in the 60s for blending jazz, rock, soul, and classical influences into lush, cinematic compositions. A visionary composer, producer, and arranger, his genre-defying work not only shaped the music of artists such as Lou Rawls and The Electric Prunes, it also became a treasure trove for hip-hop artists, with his work sampled by Dr. Dre, DJ Shadow, A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock, Earl Sweatshirt, J Dilla, De La Soul, DJ Krush, Ghostface Killah, Eminem, Drake, GZA and many more.
SHOLTO's music expresses a warm array of colours, analogue instrumental grooves and euphoric sentimentality. His music career began in 2013, when a record deal took him to LA, leading to him working with producers like Nick Waterhouse (Allah-Las) before returning to the UK and collaborating with the likes of Inflo (Cleo Sol), and Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Squid).
