Music for Youth Proms
Royal Albert Hall, SW7 2AP , [Venue Details]The Music for Youth Proms returns with two unforgettable evenings that showcase the vitality of youth music at one of Britain’s most iconic venues!
Over 2000 young performers from every corner of the UK perform on the Hall's stage in ensembles, bands and choirs large and small, spotlighting the extraordinary diversity and talent of the next generation of musicians.
Across the two nights, three special works will be performed by a massed ensemble of young musicians:
A special new work by James B. Wilson celebrating human ambition and innovation, inspired by NASA's Artemis missions that orbited the moon for the first time since the Apollo missions in 1969; commissioned in partnership with the BBC, ABRSM and the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Ten Pieces project with a poem by Wales’ Children’s Laureate Alex Wharton.
In partnership with BBC Get Singing, participants will perform a special arrangement of Something Heavy by Jacob Collier, ambassador and advocate for the BBC Get Singing programme initiative.
