Jæd + Théïa Maldoom + Sky_A

Sebright Arms, E2 9AG , [Venue Details]

London based Irish-Puerto Rican musician Jæd (pronounced: jade) releases her debut album 'I Loved The Gauntlet And There Was No Other Way' on 29th November on cult Irish label Delphi.

Tuesday,
22 Oct 2024
@7.00pm

Jæd is the artist’s choice on the London live circuit, supporting the likes of Goat Girl, Micachu and Trupa Trupa, she is a regular at The Windmill, The George Tavern and Jaguar Shoes, and recently gained further traction with performances at Ireland Music Week and Music Cork, as well as Ritual Union Bristol and Cornwall's PLU Summer Camp.

Once seen live, Jæd is hard to forget. In her hands, the guitar is choked at the neck, tamed and mastered like a wild animal to yield a particular tone, while her voice – an instrument all of its own – is capable of incredible tenderness one moment, before taking on shades of desperation and defiance the next. Listen, and you will hear a maelstrom of influences: the psychedelic contortions of Yves Tumor, the vocal thrills of Kate Bush and the glitched-out, electronic freefalls of Death Grips.

+ special guests Théïa Maldoom + Sky Ainersbury
