An evening of swinging jazz, reimagining American Songbook standards and more with energy and flair!
Sarah Bolter is a versatile and talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, known for her skillful command of saxophone, clarinet, flute, and her captivating voice. Having formed her first band, ‘Not Just Sax’, in 2001, Sarah went on to create ‘Sax in the City’, a group dedicated to melodic and rhythmic jazz with influences ranging from funk and Latin to classic jazz standards.
Sarah has performed at major festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Isle of Wight Jazz Festival, and Swanage Jazz Festival, and has shared her talents as a session musician and educator. Her collaborations have extended to several albums, including contributions to the progressive rock band Galahad.
The ‘Sax in the City’ quintet is made up of five highly experienced musicians who each bring their own unique sound and flair to the group:
- 🎷 Sarah Bolter – Saxes, clarinet, flute, vocals
- 🎸 Eddy White – Guitar
- 🎹 Nick Cooper – Piano
- 🎻 Pete Maxfield – Double bass
- 🥁 Killian Madden – Drums
With their combined expertise, ‘Sax in the City’ is known for delivering exciting performances, blending timeless jazz with modern twists for a memorable musical experience.
