Following a debut at The Roundhouse in April 2024, two sold-out tours and widespread critical acclaim, The Songs of Joni Mitchell returns for a special one-off performance at the Southbank Centre on International Women’s Day 2026.
Kate Stables (This Is The Kit), Jesca Hoop and Lail Arad, acclaimed singer-songwriters in their own right, perform intimate interpretations of their favourite Joni Mitchell songs in a loving ode to one of the finest songwriters of all time. They are joined by pianist Richard Sears and some special guests, to be announced.
Past guests of The Songs of Joni Mitchell include Vashti Bunyan, Lisa Hannigan, Simon Armitage, Emeli Sandé, Gail Ann Dorsey, Rachel Sermanni, Sam Amidon and BBC 6 Music’s Cerys Matthews. Originally conceived and curated by Lail Arad to mark Joni Mitchell’s 80th birthday, the show was described as ‘a perfect celebration of Joni Mitchell’ packed with ‘heartfelt and intricate performances’(Get In Her Ears).
