Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]Klawo is a six-piece alternative jazz unit formed in 2020 in Gdansk, Poland. Deeply rooted in the spirit of the 1970s - when funk, soul, fusion, and psychedelia were still too young to know they were separate genres - Klawo blend an old-school approach with a modern sensibility.
With two acclaimed studio albums and a reputation for electrifying live shows, Klawo have performed at some of Europe’s most prestigious festivals, including Montreux Jazz Festival, ESNS, Fusion Festival and Off Festival. In autumn 2025, they made their Japanese debut with two shows at Sound Culture: Poland x Japan Music Festival in Osaka.
Emerging from the vibrant and diverse Gdańsk music scene, and having played nearly 100 shows across 14 countries, Klawo are recognised as one of Poland’s most exciting contemporary jazz acts. Driven by two keyboards, a powerful rhythm section, and melodic horns, their sound has drawn comparisons to contemporary UK jazz, 1970s Polish funk, and experimental LA hip-hop - though the truth is likely somewhere in between.
