HEADS UP! DRUM WORKS X PACE FOUNDATION
Grow, E9 5LN , [Venue Details]Drum Works are teaming up with the Thomas Crosbie PACE Foundation for a special night of live music and DJs, raising awareness and funds for young people’s mental health.
Too many people, particularly young men, are struggling. Over the past eight years, Drum Works has lost members to suicide and addiction. The PACE Foundation was set up in memory of Thomas Crosbie, who died in 2016 aged 27. The connection between both organisations is deeply personal, with long-standing links through family, friends and shared community events.
This event is about remembering those we’ve lost, highlighting local mental health support, and raising funds for the PACE Foundation’s COLDFIRE festival and Drum Works’ ongoing work with vulnerable young people.
Drum Heads
Formed in 2009 as a progression group for Drum Works’ most advanced players, Drum Heads write and perform original music across the UK. They have appeared at major events including the Royal Variety Performance and BBC Children in Need. Their live set blends drumming with guest artists and electronics, delivering a high-energy, raucous sound.
Adisa
Adisa is an internationally acclaimed poet whose work blends performance, conversation and storytelling. Drawing on his Afro-Caribbean heritage and life in the UK, his work explores both personal and wider diasporic narratives.
