This event will be about sharing a soul connection between creatives and they will be creating a space to feel the freedom and fluidity of improvisation through generosity. They will be merging funk beats with African percussion, neo-soul with dub effects to showcase some new and exciting material. Off the back of their debut album The Channel, which was critically acclaimed in the Observer and Radio 6, they will be taking that concept further in this one time only performance.
Monzanto Sound are a rising, South East London-based music collective fusing together different styles from the African Diaspora and combining them with a hypnotic, psychedelic edge. A high-energy, rhythmic group with an ear for space and simplicity, their sonic aesthetic is carefully considered. Traversing through jazz-inflected funk, psychedelic trip- hop and cosmic neo-soul, they connect the dots using pulsating grooves, hypnotic polyrhythms and sublime vocals.
