Anmol Mohara: Across The Sea

Southbank Centre, Purcell Room, SE1 8XX , [Venue Details]

Hear the rich culture and traditions of Nepal play out in the award-winning percussionist and composer’s music – performed live with his full band.

Wednesday,
1 Jul 2026
@7.45pm

Drummer, tabla player and composer Anmol Mohara’s critically acclaimed debut album Across The Sea is a testament to the artist’s dedication to bringing traditional Nepali music into a contemporary, global context.

The London-based artist draws inspiration from visionary artists like Trilok Gurtu, Oumou Sangaré, Nitin Sawhney and Karim Ziad. Mohara’s music is deeply-rooted to his homeland, ‘bringing a fresh voice’ (Maddy Allison, Presto Music) through a fusion of the improvisational spirit of jazz and his global musical influences.

Bringing together contemporary artists and traditional ensembles, this show is a fitting celebration of an ‘effervescent’ (Songlines) album.
