All London's live music

Ellie Nanni

Third Man Records, The Blue Basement, W1F 9BA , [Venue Details]

There's something almost uncomfortably honest about the way that Ellie Nanni writes.

Saturday,
27 Jun 2026
Doors open @7.00pm

Her early releases, including her gut-wrenching breakthrough record "Running Song”, have largely resided in the world of the folk tradition, with a strong focus on modest, mellow tunes and forthright yet intricate storytelling, demonstrating just how far simplicity and candour can travel.

She was, however, first introduced to the guitar by her Italian father, playing bossa nova and canzoni d’autore on the same instrument he'd taught himself on as a teenager. That Latin sensibility and her background in classical and jazz piano have always remained. These influences, as well as a new flirtation with indie rock, now sit side by side in Ellie Nanni’s upcoming EP What makes us lovers, which is set to cultivate a distinctive indie-jazz world while remaining true to the diaristic folk roots of her lyric writing that her listeners know and love.
