Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]Bassolino is the project of Neapolitan pianist, producer and composer Dario Bassolino, one of the emerging figures shaping the city’s vibrant new wave of cinematic jazz and psychedelic funk.
Born and based in Naples, Bassolino draws deeply from the city’s rich musical identity while blending influences from jazz, funk, disco and classic Italian film soundtracks. Inspired by Brazilian innovators such as Hermeto Pascoal and Airto Moreira, alongside Italian visionaries including Toni Esposito, Tullio De Piscopo and James Senese, his music balances melodic elegance with improvisation, atmosphere and rhythmic intensity.
Having collaborated with artists including Nicola Conte and Nu Genea, Bassolino has become part of the internationally celebrated Naples scene. His debut album Città Futura, reflects this evolving musical landscape - a sound rooted in Neapolitan tradition yet shaped by global influences and contemporary grooves.
Performed by a full live band, Bassolino’s live show unfolds with an organic, improvisational energy, moving fluidly between cinematic textures, deep grooves and expansive instrumental interplay. Rich arrangements, warm analogue sounds and hypnotic rhythms combine to create a live experience that feels immersive, transportive and authentically Neapolitan.
