futuretense: alya isha & The RA KHOLECTIV + FIZA
Southbank Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer, SE1 8XX , [Venue Details]Singer-songwriter FIZA’s irresistible harmonies and alya isha & The RA KHOLECTIV’s global jazz funk light up a South Asian Sounds edition of our free gig series.
Hailing from north-west London, FIZA is a singer, songwriter and guitarist whose catchy tunes and soulful vocals have already earned her acclaim.
She has performed across the UK and beyond, with latest single ‘Detached’ featured on BBC Introducing Artist of the Week and Rolling Stone UK’s ‘hot new songs’ playlist.
Last year she worked alongside Little Simz as one of her young producers on our Meltdown festival, cementing her place as a rising creative force. She is currently a member of the Roundhouse Music Collective and played a sold-out show as part of the Roundhouse Three Sixty Festival.
With stand-out performances at events like Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and a collaboration for the 2024 London Fashion Week with AllSaints, FIZA is gearing up to release her debut EP and continue her ascent.
South-London soulstress, poet, producer and organiser, alya isha is a pioneer of ‘nu ᴇᴀʀᴛʜ gʀᴏᴏᴠᴇ’: a global, urban and bass-heavy jazz funk. You might hear Afrobeats, trip-hop and neo-soul fused jazz, with baile or shatta influences, but her sound is always distinct and ever-evolving.
