Winner of the 2022 T. S. Eliot Prize and a collaborator with artists including Meshell Ndegeocello, Archie Shepp and Shabaka Hutchings, Joseph has established himself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Black music and literature.
Returning to Ronnie Scott's, Joseph performs music from his acclaimed recent albums Rowing Up River To Get Our Names Back and The Ark. Produced by Dave Okumu, The Ark continues his imaginative exploration of contemporary Black culture through the lens of Afrofuturism, pairing expansive jazz improvisation and soulful melodies with spoken word poetry that is both deeply personal and politically resonant.
Accompanied by a full band and special guests, expect an immersive evening of hypnotic rhythms, fearless improvisation and compelling storytelling from one of the UK's most original artists.
