Pizza Express Jazz Club, W1D 3RW , [Venue Details]Jack Tyson-Charles, a North London-born soul musician, kicked off his career performing with his eight-piece band on the Camden circuit. He played at venues like Koko and The Forum and even headlined a sell-out show at the legendary Jazz Cafe to launch his debut EP Restoration.
Following a starring performance on the critically acclaimed Music for Adverts album, extensive touring ensued. Standout festival appearances, particularly at Glastonbury, cemented his reputation and led to a legendary ten-year residency at the Rabbit Hole.
A chance encounter in Birmingham with DJ and producer Danny Kane sparked a collaboration that resulted in Jack’s debut LP Love is Pain. This album resonated deeply with his soul-funk contemporaries.
Having worked with and championed some of London’s finest musicians, Jack is now focusing on an introspective piece years in the making. This project takes him back to the very roots of his sound and rhythm.
This is an epic soul album.
